Candidate's supporting statement
Jeremy Corbyn becoming Labour leader has reinvigorated opposition to Tory cuts this year. Unfortunately, this enthusiasm hasn’t reached the Labour party in South Tyneside, the South Shields branch of which has been suspended because of allegations of bullying and intimidation made by some of its own members. It’s time for #GrownUpPolitics and a candidate who will work with those supporting Jeremy’s vision for a fairer country but who isn’t afraid to call out those who fall short of the goal. South Tyneside has for too long been in the grip of one party, it’s time to shake things up with people who care about working people, but also the planet we live on; by making principled decisions for the benefit of both.
